In my opinion I believe Morgan and Alex did a pretty good job at trying to budget. They had little amounts of money and tried not to spend much of it. Their pay checks were very low. Although they did spend quite a bit while they had the kids over, they still managed to save money. Besides that they only bought the most important things they needed. At the beginning they didn't even buy beds, nor food, Alex would take some food from her job. From their background of having lots of money it seemed tough for them to handle the budgets, but they managed it.
8. The Working Poor
I think the working poor would be considered all of those people that work for a minimum wage pay. The place where Morgan found a job is where all the poor workers are. To start of they get payed less than minimum wage. Some of these workers have been getting payed minimum wage or less for more than half their lives. The working poor don't get medical insurance, if they need to see a doctor they go to a free clinic.

I agree, I think that Alex and Morgan did a good job trying to budget their money. I think that they tried their hardest to give the kids a fun time while still trying to save money. They spent more than they wanted but I thnk they did a good job of not spending more than what they did. They really seemed to have a hard time at the beginning budgeting but got a lot better by the end. -Katie Parcell
ReplyDeleteI like the point you made about Alex and Morgan coming from a place where they didn't have to budget. I agree that for people with no experience budgeting they did a really good job maintaining the little money they were bringing in. It was clearly an adjustment that was hard to make at first (Alex complained all the time) but they did deprive themselves of clothes, furniture which showed their efforts to sustain a good (enough) living as low-income individuals. - Starlenie Erner
