Dennis Melonides 30 Days on Minimum Wage P7

4. If I was in the same situation as Alex and Morgan I most likely would not have walked away from the landlord. I say this because I really wouldn’t be able to afford much else, so he probably would be my only option. Granted the building was in a bad area, and there were issues with the building, but it is better than sleeping on the street, so I would probably rent out the apartment. So, on a scale of 1-10, 10 being walking away, I would be at a 3 because when it comes down to it, no matter how sketchy the landlord and the building might be, it is still better than nothing.

8. I believe that the working poor are the people who cannot afford the basic life necessities without help from others. The working poor are people who have so much debt that they will never be able to pay it off because they don’t make enough money to do so. The working poor are the people who work the hardest and the longest for the least. They cannot afford to do anything but work, and if they stop working, they will most likely become homeless, even though a lot of them already are.

  1. Dennis,
I agree with you about walking away from the landlord. If I didn't have enough money to afford another apartment I would probably accept the shady landlord's offer either. I didn't think about living with others, smart idea! Also, very good point about the working poor working hardest for the least in return. While many people of varying professions work incredibly hard each day, the working poor tend to do manual labor which puts a lot of strain on their bodies.
