30 days Minimum Wage- Whitney G

1. I believe that Morgan and Alex's budgeting for the 30 day period was sufficient because their situation was just temporary. Although they faced many of the problems that come with living on minimum wage, I feel that they couldn't really experience the long term situational effects of minimum wage living. Once they knew they had close to 1000 of debt from the hospital the month was over and they were going home, but people who can't escape reality have to live with that debt just accumulating and if they have children thats a lot more money. If the family gets sick, which happens often because they have poor living conditions, fatigue from working jobs lowers the immune system, all these factors of living on a minimum wage salary weighs more heavy than what Alex and Morgan experienced. So as a result they were able to budget so well because they had more or less a simulated kind of experience living on minimum wage.

11. I'm not surprised that the electric company wanted a deposit. Normally companies that are receiving revenue from areas that aren't affluent or have a reputation for not keeping up with payments and have accumulated a lot of debt get looked at closely. Which means that the apartment owners have to make deposits to ensure that the company gets some money, if not all by the time the bill is due.
