9) Alex became so emotional about the services that were given to her and Morgan at The Free Store because she realized how important it was to receive these free items. She now had somewhere to sit in her house and a table to eat her food properly. Alex has realized that it would be a challenge to go on without the essential items that The Free Stores gifted, so she is grateful and thankful that she can have these items for free. Also because she doesn't have the money to pay for these essential items, getting them for free is a plus and Alex realizes this.

8) The working poor are people that spend 27 weeks or more in a year “in the labor force” either working or looking for work but whose incomes fall below the poverty level. In 2016, $11,880 per year is the poverty level per individual. In 2013, the working poor were 13% blacks, 13% Hispanics, 6% whites, and 5% Asians. The majority of people who live below the poverty level do not work. Since because they are earning such low wages, the working poor face numerous obstacles that make it difficult for many of them to find and keep a job and save up money.

  1. I agree with your response to number 9, after living a couple days without these items that most of us take for granted it serves as a huge shock how much they impact our everyday lives and wellbeing. She realizes that places like the one she visited are a godsend for people in the same situation she was in. -Nikita V. Kondratyev
