30 Days on Minimum Wage

My father is a landlord, a good one at that. He has told me horror stories of tenants, as well as landlords. I believe that he genuinely cares about the well-being of his tenants, as well as the upkeep of his buildings. The landlord in the video however, is quite the opposite. He is definitely what my father would consider a slumlord, a landlord who has no regard for the health and safety of his tenants, and lets his building fall into disrepair. I do not think that this man is honorable, nor is he deserving of even the three hundred dollars per month rent that he was charging. However, I do not think I could live with myself if I willingly stole money from a landlord. For this reason, I would pay him what I owed him, and then get the heck out of there.

I definitely agree with Senator Kennedy, raising the minimum wage would help American families. Over time, minimum wage has stayed relatively the same. At the same time, the cost of living has gone up almost exponentially, food is more expensive, housing prices are on the rise, and medical costs continue to go up. It only requires basic logic to understand that American families need more money to survive, and raising the minimum wage will do this. I do not believe that raising the minimum wage would hurt corporations. Many large businesses and corporations in America today have annual revenues that rival small countries around the world. Income inequality in the average american workplace is incredibly high, and the poor continue to struggle financially while the rich can see their income increasing at an alarming rate. Minimizing this income gap is the only way to save the working poor, and to level the playing field for all.
Good work, really came from the heart. I agree with #7. -Graham Byrne

I agree with everything you are saying about raising the minimum wage. It makes no sense to me how it has been so long and no one has done anything to help the working poor. People working in minimum wage jobs work very hard and they don't get what they deserve. -Hannah Raus
